About Sharemy: Simple, Private File Sharing for Everyone

Have you ever tried to send a large file, only to be blocked by confusing limits, forced to sign up for a service you don't want, or worried about where your private data is being stored? We have too. That’s why we created Sharemy. Our mission is simple: to make sharing files of any size as easy and secure as handing them to someone in person.

Our Philosophy

1. Simplicity First

Sharing a file shouldn't require a user manual. We designed Sharemy to be intuitive, with no accounts to create, no passwords to remember, and no software to install. Just open the page, create or join a room, and you're ready to go.

2. Privacy

Your files are yours. They should never be uploaded to a central server just to send them to a friend. Sharemy uses a direct, peer-to-peer (P2P) connection that creates a private, encrypted tunnel between your browser and the receiver's browser. It's the digital equivalent of a direct, private handshake.

3. No Strings Attached

Sharemy is a tool built for the community. It's free to use, and we are committed to keeping the core service accessible to everyone.

How It Works (The Magic Behind the Scenes)

Sharemy is powered by a modern browser technology called WebRTC, the same secure framework that powers real-time video calls in apps like Google Meet and Discord. When you use Sharemy, a secure connection is established directly between devices. Our server's only job is to act as a "switchboard" to help the two devices find each other on the internet. Once they're connected, our server steps out of the way, and your files are streamed directly and privately.
